EXPANSION SOCEA INTERNATIONAL AIR NAVIGATION PLATFORM

On July 18, 2024, in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey, a solemn ceremony of signing the Agreement on the accession of the air navigation service provider of the Republic of Tajikistan State Unitary Enterprise “Tajikairnavigation” to SOCEA membership was held. The Agreement was signed by Davron Shodmonbekzoda the First Deputy General Director of SUE “Tajikairnavigation” and Cengiz Paşaoğlu the Deputy Director General DHMI of Turkey.

SOCEA is a regional platform for the Coordination of Air Navigation Safety of SOCEA air navigation service providers to ensure the safety of air navigation flights between Europe and Asia, established in August 2023. At the moment, the platform already consists of five countries, such as the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Turkey Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The main objective of this platform is to ensure the safety of air navigation and increase the volume of air traffic in the region.

During the event, a discussion of administrative issues of activity took place, the structure was reviewed and discussed, and instructions were given to consider long-term tasks within the framework of the activities of the working groups. At the meeting, information was conveyed about the intention of a number of providers (including European ones) to join the platform.

A visit to the air traffic control tower and the Operational Control Center of Istanbul Airport was also organized. It is worth noting that the total area of airspace served is about 2 million square kilometers.
