On August 22, the official welcoming ceremony of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorable Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, was held in the square of the Palace of the Nation, which was festively decorated to receive the distinguished guest.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, warmly welcomed and invited to the honorary podium the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorable Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The welcoming ceremony proceeded with the report of the commander of the honor guard, the playing of the national anthems of the two countries, the passing of the heads of state in front of the honor guard, the high-ranking guest paying respect to the Tajik state flag, acquaintance with the official delegations of the two sides, and the solemn marching of the honor guard units in front of the heads of the two states.
Also, artillery shells were fired 21 times in honor of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon welcomed the distinguished guest and his accompanying delegation to Tajikistan and thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his personal care for the comprehensive strengthening of relations between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, which are based on open, reliable and sincere bonds.
During the meeting, issues of further cooperation in political, trade and economy, investment, industry, energy, finance and banking, agriculture and other areas of mutual interest were discussed.
It was emphasized that Kazakhstan has a leading position among Tajikistan's trade partners, and the indicators of trade between the two countries are steadily growing. Thus, the volume of trade between the two countries increased by 20 percent in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year.
The parties agreed to increase the turnover of goods up to 2 billion US dollars.
It was said that there are 92 joint ventures in Tajikistan with the investment of Kazakhstan, and 89 joint ventures with the participation of Tajik entrepreneurs in the friendly country. Over the past 5 years, 700 million US dollars have been invested in the economy of Tajikistan from Kazakhstan.
During the negotiations, the great existing potential for further expansion of cooperation in the fields of trade, economy and investment was stressed.
This is evidenced by the results of the business forum of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, which was held in Dushanbe on August 21 as part of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On the sidelines of this event, the parties signed 14 commercial contracts and cooperation agreements for a total amount of 1.2 billion US dollars.
During the negotiations, the parties also discussed the cooperation of the countries in the framework of regional and global organizations, such as UN, SCO, CSTO, CICA.
President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorable Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, took part in the presentation ceremony of the cooperation project on electronic government in the Palace of the Nation.
Honorable President of the country Emomali Rahmon stated that the introduction of "Electronic Government" is the need of the hour, and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, taking into account the needs of the society, is paying more and more attention to this process.
Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon expressed his gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and to the President of this country, Honorable Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, for their deep support in the implementation of this process.
After the ceremony of presentation of the project, the Heads of States wished the experts of the field success in achieving constructive goals and effective implementation of it.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorable Kassym-Jomart Tokaev, signed the “Treaty on allied relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
After the ceremony of signing the documents, the Heads of State Emomali Rahmon and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a press conference for a wide range of journalists.
The Head of our state specially emphasized the historical importance of signing the “Agreement on allied relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan” and stated, among other things, that “this important document will undoubtedly open a new page in the history of cooperation between the two countries, and I believe that it will become a solid basis for our strategic partnership and alliance.”
A beautiful concert of the opening of Days of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Tajikistan was held in the hall of Borbad Palace of the capital with the participation of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorable Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
It is gratifying that today the multifaceted friendly relations of the two countries are constantly developing in the spirit of mutual understanding, mutual respect and trust for the benefit of the countries and peoples of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
A magnificent and colorful program of Kazakh art masters and artists was presented to the guests, which was very memorable and symbolized the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

During the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Tajikistan and as part of the Days of Kazakhstan’s Culture in Tajikistan, concert programs, artist exhibitions, photo and painting exhibitions, and Kazakh cinema days will be held in the cities of Dushanbe, Bokhtar and Khujand.
Also, on August 21, a bust of the Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Kunanbaev was unveiled in the Cultural and Entertainment Park named after Abulqosim Firdavsi with the participation of the Ministers of Culture of the two countries.
The exhibition of agricultural products and national dishes was held as part of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Tajikistan.
Agricultural goods, such as melons, fresh fruits and vegetables were displayed at the exhibition.
In addition, within the framework of the exhibition, guests were offered bread products, including various artisan breads and cakes.
In the service center "Dunyoi Osh" the Heads of State Honorable Emomali Rahmon and Honorable Kassym-Jomart Tokayev got acquainted with national dishes, such as various types of osh prepared by chefs with high art.
Holding events, such as exhibitions, cultural programs and other important activities, if on the one hand present the rich ancient culture of Tajiks and the achievements of this civilized nation in the years of independence, on the other hand, it is an important factor in strengthening the friendship and brotherhood of the peoples of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, which come true through the will and direct support of the leaders of the two states.
