WORKING TRIP TO THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

On September 17, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met in the city of Astana of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the Federal Chancellor of Germany, Honorable Olaf Scholtz, on the sidelines of the second Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia and Germany.

At the meeting, issues of expanding bilateral relations and regional cooperation were discussed.

At the beginning of the conversation, the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, expressed his satisfaction with the expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany and other European countries, as well as the growing interest of the German economic circles in Tajikistan.

The significant contribution of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Development Bank (KfW) in the implementation of national strategies of our country was emphasized.

The parties expressed interest in continuing effective cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, industry, hydropower, solar and wind energy, transport and agriculture.

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon expressed his gratitude for Germany's contribution to the construction of the "Tojikiston" and "Sebzor" power plants in Badakhshan, as well as the modernization of the Norak power plant, and expressed his belief that this experience can be continued in the construction of the Rogun power plant.

The mining and processing of minerals, especially its rare elements, and the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry and agriculture, the export of products of these sectors from Tajikistan to Germany were named among the promising directions.

Olaf Scholtz stated that Germany is interested in cooperation with Tajikistan in energy sectors, including hydropower and other "green" energy sources, mining industry, environmental protection and security issues. "We encourage German companies with global influence to cooperate with Tajikistan", - Olaf Scholtz emphasized.

Solutions to global problems related to drinking water and melting glaciers, climate change and food security were other topics of the meeting.

It was stressed that given the great interest of Tajik youth, our country is ready to expand cooperation with Germany in order to introduce language and professional educational programs.

At the meeting, there was also an exchange of views on issues of security and stability in the region and the world.

At the end of the meeting, Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon invited the Federal Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholtz, to pay an official visit to Tajikistan.

At the meeting, the Heads of State discussed further areas of beneficial cooperation between Central Asian countries and Germany.

Honorable Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, expressed confidence that "the continuation of our dialogue between Central Asia and Germany will contribute to joint efforts to determine promising directions of multilateral cooperation and achieve practical results."

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon stated that we are ready to continue close cooperation with our partners to achieve the goal of establishing a strategic partnership between Central Asia and Germany.

It was emphasized that continuous promotion of trade and economic cooperation and investment between the countries should become one of the main priorities.

The President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, spoke about Tajikistan's hydropower potential, for the production of "green energy", Tajikistan's initiatives in solving global issues, such as climate change and its effects, melting glaciers, droughts, floods and other problems of the international community, and in this regard, considered it important to expand cooperation with partners, including Germany.

Effective cooperation in order to ensure security and stability in the region and the world was also called very important.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, drew the attention of the Heads of State to the issue of development of cooperation in cultural and humanitarian sectors, education and training of personnel for various sectors of the economy.

At the end of the speech, the Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon expressed hope that the results of the second Meeting of Heads of the Central Asian states and Germany will contribute to further strengthening of cooperative relations for the benefit of the peoples of the countries.

At the end of the meeting, the Joint Declaration of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Germany was adopted.

In the city of Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, participated and spoke at the Economic Forum on the sidelines of the second Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia and Germany.

During his speech, the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, expressed confidence that the forum will contribute to the development of cooperation between the countries of the region and Germany, especially through joint actions to use the resources and potential of the Central Asian countries and the financial and technological capabilities of Germany.

The Head of State emphasized that Tajikistan has rich natural resources, especially sources of "green energy". Effective use of this potential allows us to make a significant contribution to the "green development" of the region.

It was mentioned that today 98 percent of electricity in our country is generated from renewable sources. The country's Government plans to provide electricity production entirely from "green energy" resources by 2032 and to turn Tajikistan into a "green country" by 2037.

Honorable Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, highlighted the contribution of European companies in introducing new technologies to the country's hydropower sector.

The implementation of large projects in the field of hydropower in Tajikistan was called a clear example of the involvement of advanced European technology and experience for the purpose of "green development" of our country.

In a meaningful speech, the Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon also noted the availability of 800 mineral deposits in Tajikistan and favorable opportunities for the production of electric cars, energy-saving and electrotechnical equipment.

It was stressed that Tajikistan, prioritizing digitalization and innovative development, has provided incentives and favorable conditions for investment in these areas.

 The implementation of projects in the fields of light and food industry, production of construction materials, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, banking, as well as education and healthcare were assessed as other priority directions for our country.

 The President of the country stated that Tajikistan, along with its resources and capabilities, has created favorable conditions for the successful activity of foreign investors and businessmen.

The introduction of a unilateral visa-free regime for citizens of a number of countries, including Germany, for a stay in Tajikistan for a period of up to 30 days was considered one of the other favorable factors of cooperation.

At the end of his speech, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, used the opportunity to invite the participants of the forum to multifaceted mutually beneficial cooperation and implementation of new investment projects, especially in the field of "green development".
