SUE “Tajikairnavigation” specialist represented the Republic of Tajikistan in the first summit of the Azerbaijan, Turkey and Central Asian air navigation structures that was organized under the auspices of CANSO in Baku. EURO-ASIA CEO Summit was hosted between 23-25 January in Baku city with the initiative CANSO by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, as well as “Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC and participated by air navigation bodies of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

During the meeting on January 24, notable addresses were given by key figures such as Simon Hocquard, Director General of CANSO, Rahman Hummatov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, Enver Iskurt, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey, Samir Rzayev, Acting President of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, and other leaders from aviation bodies and air navigation services and introduced CANSO Action Plan to Promote Regional Collaboration in Central Asia and Neighboring Countries.

During the summit, the participants discussed the development and management of air traffic in the region. As a result of the discussions, decisions were made to improve the safety and efficiency of flights and joint activities.

Summit main themes related to current opportunities in Air Navigation Services, each representative of the participated countries’ air navigation bodies and respective organizations presented their ANSPs and exchanged opinions regarding Operations, Capacity Building, Safety, Sustainability and Environmental Consideration, Regulatory Environment, Technology and Innovation.

Discussion on Potential Strategies to Enhance Collaboration Between ANSPs, identifying potential areas for collaboration among Euro-Asia ANSPs and joint projects to address common challenges effectively were other themes of the summit.

It should be noted that air navigation service providers play a crucial role in the aviation industry. They are responsible for ensuring flight safety, developing air transport corridors in the region, and organizing transit flows through the countries’ airspace. They also contribute to the global air transportation chain, enhancing flight efficiency, promoting sustainable development, and mitigating environmental impact.

As part of the summit program, the participants were introduced to the activities of Azeraeronavigation (AZANS) Air Traffic Control Department, as well as new technologies and measures ensuring air transportation safety in the region.
