In order to improve the level of radio navigation support for airways and approaches to the international airports of the Republic of Tajikistan, guided by the recommendations of the "Global Air Navigation Plan of ICAO" SUE "Tajikairnavigation" has concluded an agreement with the "Systems Interface" company on the supply of DME beacons.

The DME beacon is a radio navigational aid recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO as an international navigation system for controlling aircraft during short and medium-range flights.

The radio beacon in combination with the on-board equipment of the DME system is designed to measure the inclined range of the aircraft relative to the control point of the installation.
The DME / DME method provides more accurate positioning accuracy than the VOR / DME, which is due to sufficiently high range accuracy and a relatively slow increase in errors as the range increases.

To locate a distance-measuring method, the aircraft must be located simultaneously in the coverage areas of the two beacons.
