SOCEA – INCREASING OF PARTNERS
In the framework of the CANSO Euro/Central–Asia ANSPs Second CEO Summit the separate meeting of SOCEA platform members was hosted on October 16-17, 2024 in Istanbul, Turkey. During the meeting addressed a number of issues regarding the air navigation security in the air space of the platform member states.
At the same time, the platform members expanded and on October 17, 2024, a bilateral agreement was signed regarding the inclusion of the “Kazaeronavigatsia” RSE as a member of SOCEA. It should be highlighted that on July 18, 2024, in Istanbul city of Turkey, the provider of air navigation services of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Unitary Enterprise “Tajikairnavigation” signed the Agreement on the accession of the SUE “Tajikairnavigation” to SOCEA membership that emphasizes the enterprise’s contribution in ensuring air navigation security and increasing the volume of air traffic in the region.
In the continuation, the issues of joining a number of other countries on the platform have been considered by the participants. To include the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the platform was decided. This initiative will provide a common basis for flow planning and opening of direct air traffic service routes connecting South Asia with Europe via the shortest routes.
The exchange of views at the summit is expected to contribute to sustainable progress in Europe-Asia air traffic management and positively impact aviation activities in the region in the coming years.
