SUE “Tajikairnavigation” took part in the JICA program along with representatives of 7 countries. The Knowledge Co-Creation Program “Introduction and Management of Air Navigation Services (ANS) Technology”, conducted from September 25 to October 13, 2023, in Tokyo, Japan, brought together airnavigation specialists from Djibouti, Laos, Maldives, Mozambique, Nepal, Tajikistan and Timor-Leste brought together.

 

Over three weeks, program participants enhanced their knowledge regarding the latest technologies related to ANS (Air Traffic Control System), such as GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) which uses navigation satellite radio waves to identify the position of aircraft as well as airport and airspace surveillance systems, Remote Tower, ADS-B, MLAT and developed their ability to draw up their country’s ANS system plan for the future.

Along with training and exchange of experience, attendees had seen Network Performance Assessment Center (NPAC)and Electronic Navigation Research Institute (ENRI), as well as visited Tokyo and Naha airports.

The program main objective is directed at understanding basic knowledge, actual operation and maintenance of Navigation systems (GBAS/SBAS) and Surveillance systems (WAM, MLAT, etc.), new techniques such as remote AFIS, Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Detection Systems, sort out the effectiveness and challenges of renewal for above system that will further improve navigation services in the country.

It should be noted that SUE “Tajikairnavigation” has established beneficial cooperation with the Japan Agency for International Cooperation (JICA) in aviation and has carried out several activities to date. “Capacity Development Project for the Implementation of PBN” is one of them. Participation in the Program “Introduction and Management of Air Navigation Services (ANS) Technology” contributes to defining new projects and systems.
